7:00–8:30 PM – Presentations by co-curators Dawn Kish and Richard Jackson, award-winning author Craig Childs, and Hopi educator Georgiana “Georgie” Pongyesva (Hopi).

Presented in partnership with the Glen Canyon Institute, this special closing celebration brings together voices from literature, Indigenous knowledge, photography, and contemporary perspectives to reflect on the enduring significance of Glen Canyon and the Colorado Plateau.

The evening’s keynote speaker is Craig Childs, award-winning author of The Secret Knowledge of Water and recipient of the 2026 John Burroughs Medal. Through stories drawn from decades of exploring the American West, Craig will share reflections on Glen Canyon, memory, and the enduring relationship between people and place.

Joining him is Georgiana “Georgie” Pongyesva (Hopi, Village of Hotevilla), who works to bridge Traditional Ecological Knowledge with contemporary land and water stewardship. Georgie will offer a Hopi perspective on the cultural significance of Glen Canyon and the Colorado Plateau, inviting us to consider a deeper understanding of our relationship with the land, water, and one another.

Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy opportunities to explore the exhibit, visit with fellow river enthusiasts, and celebrate the artists and stories that have made Glen Canyon Exposed such a meaningful experience. This closing celebration is more than a farewell to an exhibit—it is an opportunity to gather in conversation about history, culture, art, and the landscapes that continue to shape life across the Colorado Plateau.
